Michael E. Mitchell, MD, is medical director of cardiothoracic surgery at Children’s Wisconsin, surgical director of the Herma Heart Institute and a professor and chief of congenital heart surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin.
Dr. Mitchell received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School, and completed a general surgery and thoracic surgery residencies at Brigham & Women’s Hospital, followed by a pediatric cardiovascular surgery chief residency at Boston Children’s Hospital. He completed his fellowship in pediatric cardiothoracic surgery at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
In addition to serving on many boards for academic societies and associations, Dr. Mitchell has been recognized as a “Top Doctor” and has been published over 100 times in medical journals.
