Overview
Services
I chose to work with children and their families because I truly feel that caring for kiddos is the most important and perhaps most difficult job there is. Being a parent is hard, it can be rewarding but also exhausting. It can equally make you feel the height of pride but also the depth of fear. A million books will espouse the correct approach, but our individual families rarely fit in the “one size fits all” approach. As a behavioral health consultant my job is to help you find your answers.
After 25 years of working with children and families I have learned to approach each encounter with empathy and unconditional positive regard. I try to understand their experience, without imposing judgment. Change can be hard and psychology and counseling can be scary experiences-but I seek to add honesty and occasionally humor to the relationship through “real world” honesty and interventions. I believe the answers to most questions aren’t always found in textbooks or from experts, but in relationships and bravery.
My wife and I live in Illinois with 2 children and a giant dog. We spend most of our time driving our kids to their various and never ending sports obligations, but in the odd day when the kids aren’t at sports we try and find time to walk our dog, watch sports and do laundry.
I feel honored to provide care for children and their families and I will work daily to earn the trust granted to me.
