Research

One of the aspects of care I have found most striking is the high degree of practice variation seen among different transplant programs. I believe that through improved data sharing and research collaboration we can identify data- derived best practices that will improve outcomes across all programs (which was behind my doctoral studies and most recent publication in Pediatric Transplantation).

I see the future of heart transplantation making advances in several areas, including, 1) more targeted immunosuppression, 2) more durable mechanical circulatory support options, 3) and improved surveillance techniques and treatments for transplant rejection and complications.
