Transport and Provider Consult Center
Children's Wisconsin provides transport – by ambulance, helicopter or fixed-wing plane – from referring hospitals to Children's Wisconsin. The transport team consists of specially trained nurse clinicians and respiratory care practitioners. A doctor oversees all transports, and a provider trained in neonatal or pediatric critical care travels with the team as needed.
Each team member is specifically trained in neonatal and pediatric intensive care, emergency and transport medicine, flight physiology, and trauma.
The team serves Wisconsin, northern Illinois and Michigan. The team also travels across the U.S. bringing patients to Children's Wisconsin. Our top priority remains the health and safety of our patient families and staff. We choose the safest, fastest way to get you here based on the condition of the patient, distance from the hospital, and weather.
