Surgery Clinic

Children's Wisconsin offers surgical skin procedures for infants, children and adolescents. We emphasize patient comfort and reducing anxiety during procedures. Following an initial consultation, procedures are scheduled with local/regional anesthesia or full anesthesia administered by a pediatric anesthesiologist. Surgeries are not performed on the day of your consultation.

Surgeries are performed on the following types of lesions:

• Small congenital nevi (not giant)
• Cysts
• Miscellaneous birthmarks
• Atypical nevi
• Other skin tumors and growths

We do not treat medium to large lesions on the nasal tip, genitalia, fingers and toes, or large facial lesions. Some lesions require referral to another specialist for surgery. If needed, the referral can be made at your consultation appointment with your dermatologist.
