Short term individual grief counseling
Grief support groups
Explore our six support groups offered by Children's Wisconsin and register for one or many.
Infant loss support group
An ongoing support group for parents who have experienced the death of an infant (ages 0-2 years old).
Fourth Monday of the month
6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Child loss support group
An ongoing support group for parents that have experienced the death of a child (2 years old and older).
Third Monday of the month
6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
S.O.U.L.: Young adult support group
An ongoing support group for young adults, ages 19-29, who have experienced a death.
Third Wednesday of the month
6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Grief Haven: Children & teens support groups
For children and teens ages 5-18 and their adults/guardians. Participants engage in age-specific activities and discussions to process and express their grief while connecting with others who understand. They also receive grief education, positive strategies and lifelong tools.
In-person groups: first and third Tuesday of the month from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Virtual groups: second and fourth Tuesday of the month from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
*Minimum of 3 families required to run virtual group. All age groups will be combined in the virtual groups.

Equine grief explorers
Equine Grief Explorers Pilot Support Group for Teens is a beautiful partnership that joins the powerful impact of un-mounted equine assisted learning with the healing benefits of a grief support group.
8 Consecutive Mondays, starting April 17th and running thru June 5th, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Facebook grief resource group
This is a private Facebook group for parents and guardians of children who have died.

Throughout the year, workshops are offered for both adults and children. These workshops can help families and individuals understand the grief process, manage the effects of grief, and offer support during the healing process.

Text for hope program
The text for hope program sends a grief-related text to the participant's smart phone, once a week, for a year. The texts consist of quotes, practical tips or resources to support the bereaved during their grief journey.
Grief camps
Day camps for children/teens
Day camps designed for children/teens who are grieving a death. This is a chance for children/ teens to share similar experiences, explore feelings and learn coping skills in a group setting, as well as have fun participating in camp activities.
Camp Tamarack
Camp Tamarack is a camping program of the Albert and Ann Deshur Family Jewish Community Center (“JCC”). This camp is designed for children/teens who are grieving a death. This is a chance for children/ teens to share similar experiences, explore feelings and learn coping skills in a group setting, as well as have fun participating in camp activities.
Camp Oak Leaf
Camp Oak Leaf is for families who have experienced the death of a child. All family members, infant through adult, are invited to attend. Camp Oak Leaf provides a balance of fun activities (sports, games, art, etc.) with grief education and projects that are age appropriate for each member of the family.
Community partner program
Infant/Child Loss Support Group Menasha/Fox Valley
An ongoing support group for parents who have experienced the death of a child (ages 0-18 years old). The group is held at the Center for Grieving Children in Menasha.
Second and/or fourth Tuesdays of the month
(except during June, July and August)
Center for Grieving Children Menasha/Fox Valley
For children/teens ages 3-18. Provides age specific groups to support the whole family. Children/teens participate in activities that encourage discussion and the expression of
their grief.
