Services

I believe in patient-centered care that prioritizes the individual child and family’s needs. There is no “one size fits all” treatment plan for any diagnosis or disease. It is important to me to respect and listen to each patient and their family and work together as a team to make medical decisions that are in the best interest of the child. Although I care for all pediatric patients with blood disorders, I am deeply passionate about, and have expertise in, caring for those with sickle cell disease. Because transition from pediatric to adult healthcare is a critical time in sickle cell disease, I particularly enjoy working with patients that are in the young adult and adolescent age group to assist in a smooth transition to adult sickle cell disease care.

It was a nice experience and was overwhelmed about the gifts

My child was nervous being there and it would have been helpful to have had the TV on to some kids channel as a distraction. Other than that, everyone was kind and helpful- I love the staff!

I was very impressed with Children's Hospital overall. My son felt in a scary situation, very comfortable, very loved, and was super excited by all the extra special things that they offered from the half-price books to getting a blood draw and getting a toy. It was really special for him. So I appreciate all the doctors in the Humantology Department and the nurses. They were wonderful. Thank you.

The visit to Dr. Azul's office was great. The front desk staff was very friendly. There was a phlebotomist slash front desk staff, I feel like her name is Sherelle or Chanel. She was amazing. She was great at pediatric blood draw, which is not an easy feat. I really appreciate her services. Everyone was kind in the waiting room. Dr. Azul was very kind and patient and explained things in an easy to understand way. I understood it pretty much, but my husband expressed that he was kind of lost most of the time. So those were the difference of our two opinions for where it was yes mostly or yes somewhat. I would appreciate a different kind of heads up for when there is a resident or some sort of person in training who would be doing a visit.

Hi, I think I inadvertently pressed a 2 earlier in the survey. I thought it was a yes and no answer, so I heard no for 1 and 2 yes, and I just pressed 2. It should have been a 4. Dr. Azouz was great and had a very good visit and put everything in terms that we could easily understand. Thank you.

I love Children's, I get everything that I need every single time that I appeared on the campus of the hospital. So I really would recommend that to even a person that I didn't know, but I knew was in need of serious help for their children. God bless every staff, every member of that hospital. Keep doing what you do. Your love and appreciated.
