We hope the Pediatric Nursing Conference nourishes you with connections, energy, and ideas to gather and grow your professional practice in caring for and about children, their families, our communities, and yourself!

About

This Pediatric Nursing Conference is designed to enhance the knowledge, skills, and professional growth of nurses who care for children and their families across all care settings.

Any level or role of nurse or other health care professionals interested in and committed to caring for the health of children and their families are welcome to join.

Registration, fees, cancellation and refund policy

Registration for the Conference is complimentary for Children’s Wisconsin Employees as a benefit of employment.

There is a registration fee for students and non-Children’s Employees, including those employed by MCW.

  • Children’s Wisconsin employee - $0
  • Approved committee member or speaker - $0
  • Undergraduate nursing student (must provide school email) - $30
  • Nursing faculty, graduate nursing and allied health students, Medical College of Wisconsin or 
    Connected for Kids (Bellin/Theda) partners - $125.00
  • General Registration - $200.00

Registration fee includes: keynote, breakout sessions, poster session and plenary. It also includes a boxed lunch selection, a light morning snack and an afternoon snack.

  • There is no fee reduction when a lunch option is not selected.
  • The venue is not able to accommodate food allergies or preferences. You may choose to be responsible for your own lunch.

Cancellations and changes must be made by October 17, 2025.

  • For cancellations after October 17, please email to PedsRNConf@childrenswi.org.
  • Sorry, no refunds for cancellations received after October 17, after the conference begins or for no-shows.
  • *Please note: Children's employees' home cost center may be charged for late cancellation or for no-shows.

The Brookfield Conference Center is located just south of the Brookfield Square Mall. The location is approximately 10 minutes west of Children’s Wisconsin.

Overnight Accommodations

The Hilton Garden Inn Brookfield has a block of rooms available at the time of the Pediatric Nursing Conference. These accommodations adjoin the Brookfield Conference Center.

Any use of accommodations before or after the conference is at your personal expense. Availability is on a first come / first served basis and the rate is available through 10/6/2025.

Keynote Speaker

Donna Wright, MS, RN, NPD-BC
Professional Development Specialist/Consultant
Creative Health Care Management - Minneapolis, MN

Ms. Wright is a nurse and professional development specialist with Creative Healthcare Management in Minneapolis, MN. Donna has degrees in Nursing, Family Sociology, and Adult Education. Donna has worked with many health care organizations to help them create meaningful, effective programs that support professional development and competency assessment for all departments. She is the author of the book, The Ultimate Guide to Competency Assessment in Healthcare – which has been translated into Japanese and is being used throughout Japan. Her other competency book is: The Competency Assessment Field Guide. She is also one of the co-authors of two national award-winning books, Relationship-Based Care: A model for transforming practice and Advancing Relationship-Based Cultures.

Donna has also worked with organizations across the globe with competency topics. She has worked on six out of seven continents. The only one she has not worked on is Antarctica.

Donna received her degrees from the University of Minnesota. She has worked in both staff and leadership roles. Her experiences have taken her around the globe to a variety of health care settings including rural Africa. Donna is a member and past president of the Association for Nursing Professional Development and is a recipient of their “Promoting Excellence in Consultation” award and the Marlene Kramer Lifetime Achievement award. Donna is known for her energy and refreshing approach to education and learning.

Conference "tips" and reminders

  • You will receive an email confirmation when your registration is confirmed. Please have the confirmation available (either printed or electronic) on the day of the conference. Bring your employee or student ID for verification.
  • Check in will begin at 8:15 a.m. Conference will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m.
  • Please spend time before the conference begins to visit with posters and exhibitors from 8:30 – 9 a.m.
  • Need help? Look for conference committee staff near registration area.
  • A boxed lunch will be served for all attendees from approximately 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Connect Ballroom. We are not able to accommodate food preferences or allergies. Other food options may be available for self-purchase at nearby venues.
  • Visit the poster area for current nursing research, quality improvement projects, inspiration and learning!
  • Lactation space is available. Please check with conference committee staff near registration area for more information.
  • ADA Compliance Statement: Children’s Wisconsin fully intends to comply with the legal requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Should you or anyone accompanying you require special assistance or accommodation, please email PedsRNConf@childrenswi.org.
  • We value your feedback, so please make sure to complete the survey that will be available at the end of the conference! Upon completion of survey, you will receive an email that will contain your certificate. The survey will not be available post-conference.

Nursing contact hours and disclosure information

Children's Wisconsin is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the Wisconsin Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.

Nursing contact hours will be provided for nurses who successfully complete this activity. A total of 5.5 credits including 1.0 pharmacology credit will be awarded for participation. If you intend to claim nursing contact hours, you must attend the entire full day of the conference and complete an evaluation survey by November 1, 2025. Nursing contact hour credits will NOT be available for post-conference participation.

No one in control of content has any relevant financial relationships with ineligible companies. Ineligible companies are those whose primary business is producing, marketing, selling, reselling or distributing healthcare products used by or on patients.
