Team Survivors Triathlon Training Program for BMT & Cancer Survivors

Wednesdays (6:15 – 7:30 p.m.) & Sundays (9 – 10:15 a.m.)

The Children’s Wisconsin Triathlon Training Program is designed to encourage BMT & cancer survivors, ages 9-17, to regain physical fitness, endurance, strength and flexibility after cancer treatment by training for a triathlon. Upon completion of the training program, you may opt to sign-up for the TOSA Youth Tri on Saturday, August 9, 2025.

  • Must be turning 9 before December 31, 2025 and must be 17 through December 31, 2025

Race distances

Challenge      

  • 200-yard swim
  • 4-mile bike
  • 1.2-mile run

Fun      

  • 100-yard swim
  • 2-mile bike
  • .62-mile run

This program is open to all skill levels and abilities. You do not need to know how to swim or ride a bike to join.

As a participant of the FREE training program, you will:

  • Attend team practices, twice a week for 12 weeks. Parent(s) are required to stay at practices.
  • Work on building endurance and strength by walking, running, bicycling or swimming.
  • Receive free triathlon equipment such as helmet, running shoes, swimsuit, bike, etc.

In the online registration form below, you will be asked about swimsuit size, helmet size and inseam. Use the following sizing guides for assistance:

Describe any sport-specific injuries or illnesses the participant currently has (i.e., knee or shoulder pains, exercise induced asthma, tendinitis, bursitis, diabetes, etc.). Be as specific as possible. Include any medications, supplements, or treatments the participant is currently utilizing to address the problem.
You will not be fully registered until the waivers are completed and sent in to teamsurvivors@childrenswi.org.
