Nursing program scholarship
Children’s Wisconsin is committed to developing a trained workforce to meet both current and future healthcare needs. Children’s Wisconsin desires to provide scholarships to students who are pursuing a career in nursing. These scholarships will be funded by a grant awarded to Children’s Wisconsin by Outagamie County to help support healthcare career exploration.
Application requirements
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:
- Be enrolled in a nursing program
- Have a satisfactory school performance record (No academic discipline for at least one year prior to applying. Receiving academic discipline during the application review process will automatically disqualify applicants from the scholarship).
- Reside in Outagamie County
Please complete the three application steps listed below no later than December 10, 2024:
- Complete your online scholarship application
- Two online recommendations
- Send the link to two professional references to complete a recommendation on your behalf.
- One recommendation must be from a teacher or professor.
- The other recommendation can be from the head of the nursing program, a professor, teacher or professional recommendation from your work history.
- Send the link to two professional references to complete a recommendation on your behalf.
- Official transcripts or letter of acceptance
- Please email your transcripts or letter of acceptance to ID&E@childrenswi.org.
Note: All documents should be submitted prior the application deadline. No late or incomplete applications will be accepted.
2024 scholarship timeline
- December 10: Submission deadline for scholarship application, recommendations, transcripts and/or a letter of acceptance
- December 11 – 23: Application review and interviews between applicants and the nursing scholarship selection committee
- December 23 – 27: Scholarship recipients notified and awarded.
Scholarship selection
The Nursing Program Scholarship selection committee will evaluate the scholarship candidates, based on the student's:
- Enrollment in a nursing program
- Commitment to pursuing a nursing career and/or healthcare career
- Interest in healthcare, based on volunteer and work experience
- Prior academic achievement
- Financial need
Note: Scholarship recipients will receive up to $5,000 of education assistance paid to the college enrolled. These monies may only be used for tuition expenses.
