Research subjects and participants

As the region's only independent healthcare system dedicated solely to the health and well-being of children, our research attracts pioneering researchers in their fields. As researchers leap into the unknown, we work collaboratively with academic providers who translate innovative ideas, into new breakthroughs. We represent the most powerful concentration of pediatric research in the region.

A comic to educate children about clinical research

Sophie’s Science Project is a comic book designed to help teach children about medical research, was developed by Children’s Hospital Boston, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. The video was created by Thomas Naughton, from Harvard Catalyst.

Sophie's Science Project explores the nuances of research participation and describes the process of obtaining informed consent. It can be utilized as a resource for clinical research teams to share with study participants or presented in educational settings to inform children and families about the value of medical research in advancing human health.
