Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team (MET)

A team at the Child Development Center evaluates children with complex developmental problems. Typically children have already participated in Birth to 3 or early childhood services but are not making progress as anticipated.

We provide evaluations for children, ages 2 to 6, who have one or more of the following:

  • Developmental problems
  • Behavior or adjustment difficulties
  • Communication delays and disorders

Our multidisciplinary evaluation team includes the following health care professionals:

  • Developmental pediatrician or advance practice provider
  • Pediatric psychologist
  • Speech/language pathologist

School performance program

The school performance program is a team of psychologists, speech and language pathologists and medical providers at the Child Development Center. Their evaluations identify the reason for a child's struggles in school and needed supports. They provide evaluations for children ages 7-18. Common concerns and diagnoses include:

  • Learning disabilities
  • Intellectual disabilities
  • Language disorders
  • Autism and/or social challenges
  • Anxiety related to academic challenges
  • ADHD.

Both programs offer these services

  • Family-centered, coordinated diagnostic evaluation by a multi-specialty team
  • Recommendations regarding treatment and educational programs
  • Counseling about diagnosis, intervention and prognosis
  • Referral to other specialists as needed
  • Follow-up evaluations to monitor the child's progress
