Evaluation team
Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team (MET)
A team at the Child Development Center evaluates children with complex developmental problems. Typically children have already participated in Birth to 3 or early childhood services but are not making progress as anticipated.
We provide evaluations for children, ages 2 to 6, who have one or more of the following:
- Developmental problems
- Behavior or adjustment difficulties
- Communication delays and disorders
Our multidisciplinary evaluation team includes the following health care professionals:
- Developmental pediatrician or advance practice provider
- Pediatric psychologist
- Speech/language pathologist
School performance program
The school performance program is a team of psychologists, speech and language pathologists and medical providers at the Child Development Center. Their evaluations identify the reason for a child's struggles in school and needed supports. They provide evaluations for children ages 7-18. Common concerns and diagnoses include:
- Learning disabilities
- Intellectual disabilities
- Language disorders
- Autism and/or social challenges
- Anxiety related to academic challenges
- ADHD.
Both programs offer these services
- Family-centered, coordinated diagnostic evaluation by a multi-specialty team
- Recommendations regarding treatment and educational programs
- Counseling about diagnosis, intervention and prognosis
- Referral to other specialists as needed
- Follow-up evaluations to monitor the child's progress
