Since 2000, the Fetal Concerns Center has been dedicated to a comprehensive team approach to provide the kind of care that you'd expect from one of the best pediatric hospitals in the country. When you come to the Fetal Concerns Center, you can expect:

Specialty programs to address every fetal concern

• We are integrated with a deep network of specialists from Children’s Wisconsin and Froedtert Hospital & The Medical College of Wisconsin to address a range of concerns, including expert multi-fetal pregnancy management, fetal heart care and neonatal intensive care.
• Our care also extends beyond the fetus as we are well-equipped to care for pregnant mothers who have adult congenital heart disease.
• This expert care continues after the birth of your baby, as we are equipped to provide subspecialty care and treatment to your baby immediately after birth, all at the same location as the delivery.

Coordination of fetal care

• Whatever services or appointments you may need during pregnancy, our nurse care coordinators will work to individualize care, act as a patient advocate, and serve as a dedicated, consistent point of contact throughout your pregnancy.
• Our providers work very closely with referring providers and other specialists involved in the mother’s ongoing care to ensure that both mother and baby are receiving the best possible care.
• Pediatric subspecialties that may be needed to treat the baby after birth are available 24/7.
• Traveling a long distance? The Ronald McDonald House is available to families who travel for care through the Fetal Concerns Center, and can be arranged through your dedicated care coordinator.

Access to world-class NICU and surgical services

• Children's level IV NICU (highest level possible) is the largest in the state, with 70 private rooms.
• We're the only Level I Children’s Surgery Center (highest level possible) in the state.
• Children's NICU offers highly experienced staff and state-of-the-art equipment that can handle all neonatal health concerns - no matter what type of complications may arise.
• Our NICU is located directly next to the Froedtert Birth Center, eliminating the need for an ambulance ride while keeping mom and baby together after delivery. Research shows that outcomes improve when the delivery room and NICU are close together, allowing mom and baby to be together after delivery.
• Children's is the only NICU in the state to host the March of Dimes Family Support Program, which provides information and comfort to families of premature and other critically ill newborns.

Planning and services, even if you deliver at another hospital

• If your baby does not require emergency care after birth, you can choose to deliver your baby at another hospital of your choice.
• Fetal Concerns Center staff will help you plan for your baby's follow-up care by providing education and counseling.

• Our maternal fetal medicine specialists provide expert, evidence-based, state-of-the-art prenatal evaluation, diagnostics and medical treatment for numerous fetal conditions.
• The Fetal Concerns Center physician team of neonatologists, maternal fetal medicine specialists and fetal & pediatric surgeons have more than 140 combined years of experience.

• As the Fetal Concerns Center is part of a "learning hospital", our faculty has produced nationally published research and position statements on fetal myelomeningocele repairs and other fetal interventions.
