Caring for children with nutritional disorders
The Nutritional Care Program at Children's Wisconsin specializes in the care of children with nutritional disorders that range from failure to thrive to feeding disorders to intestinal failure.
Common cases include children with poor weight gain and other disorders of growth who need to be treated using a combination of nutritional and medical therapies. Children with feeding disorders have difficulties taking enough food by mouth in order to grow well and these children can benefit from nutritional and medical therapies. Some children may require placement of a feeding tube to assist in provision of hydration, calories and nutrients.
Our Nutritional Care Program is headed by Dr. Tanyaporn (Katie) Kaenkumchorn, an expert in the world of pediatric nutrition with board certification in nutrition support.
