Gastric pacing

This treatment involves surgically implanting electrodes in a patient’s stomach to give currents to the area. This is often done through a laparoscopic procedure. The pacer’s electrical stimulation is believed to change the brain’s perception, possibly by affecting the vagus nerve, which runs from the brain to the abdomen. This treatment can improve nausea and pain in some patients.
