Diagnosing and treating functional abdominal pain related to disorders of the gut-brain interaction
Children's offers cutting-edge diagnostic and treatment options. We are one of the few pediatric centers in the nation to offer esophageal and colonic manometry to investigate motility disorders associated with abdominal pain.
Treatment varies depending on the severity of your child’s pain, but it could include medication, auricular neurostimulation, cognitive behavioral therapy and biofeedback. Many patients suffer with chronic functional abdominal pain and significant disability as a result of their symptoms. Our team will work closely with your family to offer the most appropriate treatment to achieve the best results for your child. Children’s is one of 4 pediatric centers in the country to be designated a PENFS “Center of Excellence”. This is a novel, FDA cleared, neurostimulation therapy for children 11-18 years of age who suffer from functional abdominal pain and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
