Magnetic resonance enterography (MRE)

This imaging test is used to evaluate some gastrointestinal disorders, including inflammatory bowel diseases such as Crohn’s disease. The MRE pictures are taken in an MRI scanner, which is a machine that uses a large magnet, radio waves and a computer to take pictures of areas inside of the body. It does not use radiation. There are no known harmful effects from having an MRE.
