Hailey's story

Living with cancer is nothing new for Hailey. She’s been receiving treatments since she was just 1 year old. Thanks to the Northwestern Mutual Day Hospital in our MACC Fund Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, which treats cancer and blood disorders, children like Hailey are now able to receive life-saving care in a comfortable, open outpatient setting — or as Hailey calls it, “the fun side!"

Honoring Ashton's fight

Ashton was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma at just 2 years old. Read more about Ashton's story and watch this inspiring video showing Ashton’s triumphant battle against childhood cancer on our blog.

Ali's story

Ali and Annalisa are as much friends as they are sisters. And they rely on each other for quite a bit, including piano duets, dance offs and hair style tips. Their bond grew even stronger when Ali was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia shortly before her 13th birthday. Two years later, Ali is in remission and as active as ever, focusing on being the awesome big sister she was meant to be.

Lulu's story

Meet Lulu, a creative first grader from Milwaukee. Lulu was just 5 years old when her parents took her to the doctor after a series of bruises and nosebleeds. A routine test confirmed the worst, and she was rushed to Children's Wisconsin where, that very day, she began treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). Lulu completed her treatment in our MACC Fund Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders — marked by a ceremonial "ringing of the bell."

Christian's story

Christian Bass was just 9 months old when he was diagnosed with leukemia. "When a child is diagnosed with cancer, it's like a bomb going off in the room," said Bruce Camitta, MD. "Their world is crumbled." Through new treatments and protocols, survival rates are improving. Our MACC Fund Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders helps families like Christian's through this hard time.
