Am I eligible?
Master's Degree in health care administration, business administration, or related field; basic knowledge of health care operations from previous employment, such as an internship, is preferred. Must have completed all in-person, hybrid, or remote coursework by the time the fellowship position begins.
How long is the fellowship?
The fellowship at Children’s Wisconsin is a 2-year program.
In year 1, the fellowship is designed to immerse the fellow in the operations of Children’s Wisconsin. The fellow will meet with members of senior leadership and different department leaders to gain a better understanding of the breadth and depth of the organization. The fellow will also shadow front-line staff to better understand the connection and impact of the decisions made by leadership teams. In addition, the first year will include project work core to the development of a future health care leader, as well as exposure to a fellow’s particular area(s) of interest.
In year 2, the fellow will take the lead on various hospital and system-level initiatives in addition to pursing projects of interest. In addition, second year fellows will have the opportunity to mentor new 1st year fellows.

One fellow is accepted each year.
Can the fellowship be used as a residency placement in order to complete my master's degree?
Yes, though prospective fellows must have completed all in person, hybrid, or remote coursework requirements for their degree prior to starting fellowship role.
Is the Administrative Fellow a paid position?
Administrative Fellows are considered full-time employees and are paid a competitive salary. Additionally, they are eligible for insurance benefits, retirement savings, and paid time off. A stipend for relocation expenses up to $2,000 is available.
Does Children's Wisconsin administrative fellowship program sponsor international students for H1-B visas or green cards?
No, at this time we do not sponsor international students for our Administrative Fellowship Program.
Upon completion, will the Administrative Fellowship lead to a position at Children's Wisconsin?
While it is the hope and intent of the fellowship program that the fellow continue working for Children’s Wisconsin at the conclusion of their fellowship, neither party is obligated to either offer or accept a position post-fellowship.
