Overview
Services
I love helping children, families, and the Milwaukee community to be healthy and well. I also enjoy teaching and mentoring medical and graduate students and resident physicians to serve the vulnerable in society. I have led efforts to prevent childhood obesity and to control pediatric asthma and adult diabetes. I have worked at Downtown Health Center -- now Midtown Clinic -- since 1994. I direct the Institute for Health and Society which aims to improve health and advance equity through partnerships. Our epidemiologists, biostatisticians, bioethicists, and community-engaged researchers and educators work to integrate medicine with public and community health. My wife Linda Meurer is a professor of family and community medicine at MCW and leads educational programs for medical students and doctors. My three teenage children give me pride and joy.
