Kyle Scharer is a nationally certified and state-licensed athletic trainer who joined Children’s Wisconsin in 2011. He currently serves as the Ambulatory Manager for the Orthopedic Service Line, overseeing day-to-day outpatient operations. Prior to this position, Kyle spent two years as the Operations Supervisor for the Orthopedic Service Line, and three years working as an athletic trainer within the primary care sports medicine program, assisting in the care of young athletes with sports-related injuries, including concussion.

Kyle earned a bachelor's degree in education with an emphasis on athletic training and clinic management from Bowling Green State University in 2005. While at BGSU, Kyle completed an internship with Toledo Mud Hens baseball organization (AAA affiliate of the Detroit Tigers). Kyle obtained a master's degree in Exercise Science from the University of Georgia in 2008, while also serving as a graduate assistant athletic trainer for the UGA softball program. In 2011, Kyle completed a residency program at UW Health Sports Medicine (Madison, WI) aimed at transitioning athletic trainers from the sidelines to the physician practice setting.

Prior to completing his residency program, Kyle served for two years as an assistant athletic trainer at East Carolina University, working primarily with the football and men’s and women’s tennis programs.
