Insulin pump

What is an insulin pump?

An insulin pump is a small device that gives insulin. It is given through soft tubing and stays in place for two to seven days. Then the tubing needs to be changed. An insulin pump has many benefits, including:

  • Fewer pokes
  • More precise dosing of insulin
  • More flexibility for the person with diabetes

The clinic has two classes to help you learn about pumps and help you and your child make the right insulin pump choice. They also teach you how to be safe and successful on a pump. If you are interested in learning more, please ask the clinic for more information.
