Esophageal dilation
This endoscopic treatment is often the first step in treating esophageal achalasia. It involves using a special balloon to stretch the esophageal muscle so food can pass through. This low-risk option takes just 30-45 minutes while your child is asleep, and the procedure can be tried a few times if necessary.
