Mission #3: Get moving
Did you know? Your child's body will be at its best when he or she gets at least one hour of physical activity each day.
What you can do:
- Start slow. Start with 1 or 2 days a week. Walking, swimming, and stretching are good exercises to start with.
- Do exercise as a family. Kids are much more likely to be active when adults in their home are active too. Have the whole family exercise. Take walks, bike rides, or go to exercise classes.
Make an exercise goal for your family! Choose how many days per week you and your child or teen can be active. Write it on your refrigerator or somewhere you will see it often.Mark the days that you reach your family goal on a calendar or use this chart to help keep track of how much and how often your child or family is exercising.
