Brain tumor program
Tumors in the central nervous system, whether they're located in the brain or spinal cord, typically are referred to as brain tumors. These tumors are among the most common types of cancer in children, and they occur when there is abnormal growth of cells. Anyone can develop a brain tumor, but children need pediatric specialists because of the types of tumors, how they respond to treatment and the long-term side effects of treatment.
