Patient stories help educate legislators

Among the best ways for elected officials to learn about the important work being done at Children's Wisconsin is by visiting our facilities and hearing the stories of our patients and families.

Families share their stories

We want patients and their families to share their experiences with legislators. You can call, write letters, send an email or arrange a face-to-face meeting to discuss your views.

Elected officials say it takes less than 10 individual letters or a handful of phone calls to draw their attention to a particular issue. You can make a difference with just a few minutes of your time. And we’ll help.

Each year, patient families travel to Washington, D.C., to speak with members of Congress as part of Family Advocacy Day. Meet Phoenix & Vince, who took part in this event in June 2023.
