Benjamin Mansalis, MD
Dr. Benjamin Mansalis serves as a senior vice president and Chief Information and Digital Officer for Children’s Wisconsin. In this role, he leads the Information Services department and Children’s digital, analytics and technology strategies. His responsibilities include integrating technology, ensuring cybersecurity, optimizing Children’s gold-star rated Epic system and leveraging digital tools to transform child and adolescent health.
Dr. Mansalis started his career as a technologist before pursuing a medical degree. He is a fellowship-trained physician and information technology executive with 25 years of experience solving real-world health care problems. Most recently he served as Chief Digital and Information Officer and Senior Vice President at Indiana University Health, where he developed an Artificial Intelligence center of excellence and corresponding AI/machine learning governance and ethics framework. Prior to his time at Indiana University Health, Dr. Mansalis served as Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Integris Health, Oklahoma’s largest clinical integrated health care network, where he led all of technology and digital services including the implementation and optimization of the Epic electronic medical record. The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHiME) recognized him as an innovator in virtual care and data science, and he was awarded CHiME Innovator of the Year 2021.
Dr. Mansalis earned his medical degree from Albany Medical College in New York. He completed his residency and fellowship through Kaiser Permanente in California and served in clinical roles as an internist and hospitalist.
Dr. Mansalis is a member of the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives, the Association of Medical Directors of Information Systems, and the American College of Physicians and a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
