Metcalfe Park
The Metcalfe Park Advisory Board began meeting in 2011. Members of the advisory board were identified by residents and stakeholders within the Metcalfe Park community as leaders who care about their neighborhood. The advisory board provides both leadership opportunities for residents as well as an opportunity to be a part of the positive changes in their neighborhood.
Through a facilitate discussions in 2011, with both neighborhood residents and community stakeholders, three areas of focus were originally determined priority for Metcalfe Park neighborhood. In 2012, residents added one more area of focus to that list of priorities. The advisory board works with residents and community stakeholders to identify opportunity to bring awareness and resources together to focus on the following priorities:
- Safety
- Education
- Jobs
- Health and wellness
The Metcalfe Park Advisory Board works in partnership with Building Neighborhood Capacity Program (BNCP) Metcalfe Park and under the following mission statement:
Metcalfe Park Community Advisory Board offers residents the opportunity to improve the quality of life that creates and stronger and more viable network of community resources and foundation for strong and healthier families.
Key partners
In each neighborhood, key partners play a significant role in facilitating and leading the process and engaging community members. The key partners for Metcalfe Park neighborhood include Next Door and Boys & Girls Club – Fitzsimonds location, both are long-standing trusted community resources offering recreational and educational programs and services for children, teens and their families.
