Urgent care
Sniffles, sore throat or something else?
Use our symptom checker to understand if your child needs to be seen. We don't want families waiting to see a doctor if it isn't needed. Our symptom checker can help determine if your child or teen is better off at home resting under the covers, rather than sitting in a waiting room.
Walk-in or video visit urgent care
- Our walk-in urgent care clinics are open every day for children ages 0-18. Please know that a limited number of walk-in appointments may be available at each location.
- Our urgent care video visits are available online every day for children ages 0-17. Learn more about online video visits.
X-ray imaging is NOT available at our Mayfair location.
Save your spot in line
We encourage families to save their spot in line ahead of time and then wait at home until it's time to be seen. Please know that by selecting a time this is saving your spot in line with an estimated time to be seen. It is not an actual appointment. If there are no spots available, call the clinic before arriving to confirm that walk-ins are still available. To save your spot, please click on your preferred clinic.
When you take your child to a Children’s Wisconsin urgent care clinic, you can trust that you’ll not only receive high-quality pediatric care, but also that your child’s care plan will be fully communicated to his/her primary care provider.
Urgent care is for illnesses or injuries that you normally would receive care for at your primary care doctor’s office. Appointments are never needed. A co-payment will be collected at the time of service.
We have board-certified pediatricians and pediatric nurse practitioners on staff at all of our urgent care clinics. Learn about our urgent care providers. For more information on all Children's Wisconsin urgent care locations, call (414) 266-4800.
Urgent care or Emergency Department?
Children's Wisconsin's urgent care does not provide preventive care services like physicals or vaccines. Your child's primary care doctor can provide these services.
Urgent care does not provide ultrasounds, CT scans or MRI studies. If your child needs one of these they will be transferred to our emergency department.
The Emergency Department is for more serious illnesses and injuries. Below is a general guide to help you determine whether to seek urgent care or emergency care. You can also read our blog to learn more about how to decide whether to take your child to an urgent care clinic or to the ED.
